History of Typefaces
The following editorial design shows the history of each of the eight classifications of type; Humanist Serif, Old Style, Transitional Serif, Modern, Geometric, Humanist Sans-Serif, Egyptian and Neo-Grotesque. Each classification has a corresponding typeface to represent the unique qualities developed in its creation.
The first spread for each classification shows the parts of the letterforms and their names. The next spread includes part of the alphabet for the viewer to focus on the beauty of each typeface. The colors are connected with complementary colors on the color wheel.
