One of my first projects that I was able to work on this past year was a logo redesign for Ciola Construction, a company owned by one of my boss's close friends. The previous designer at Sofia's Cookies had designed a few but the couple had never decided. While they still have not picked a final logo, I was able to try my hand at this fun construction logo. Here is a small look into my journey and what the finish brand would look like in my eyes.
As I started designing this logo, I had a lot of inspiration from the previous designer's work. She had created a grungy, strong, modern logo that would stand out against any texture. I wanted to take this style and feeling but give it a little bit more of a retro vibe. I stated to find ideas from some things that the Ciolas had sent a long, as well as retro logos online. I tried to incorporate many different tools and edges into these logos to create a hand-crafted feel.
The logo that I finally decided on included three different tools in the middle with strong rugged type around the edges. I like how it was solid and modern but had a vintage twist. Below you can see how I would design other elements of the brand.
Thank you for peeking at my brand re-vamp for a local client. On to the next, ciao!
